How to Live Like a Monk at Home

This seven-day journey brings the rhythm of monastic life into everyday life at home. Each day includes a Morning, Lunch, and Evening Session, combining Scripture, silence, teachings from the Rule of Saint Benedict, reflection, prayer, and a simple practice to carry into your day.

Day 1: Living in the Presence of God

Session 1: Morning - Begin With God

Scripture: Psalm 63:1-4
Theme: Keeping God Before Your Eyes

Begin with Psalm 63 and its deep thirst for God. The monk explains how this desire for God lies at the heart of monastic life, followed by five minutes of silence. He introduces the first degree of humility from Chapter 7 of the Rule of Saint Benedict: keeping God always before our eyes. You finish by journaling one way you will remember God’s presence throughout the day.

Carry the rhythm forward.

The seven days may be over, but the deeper invitation is just beginning.
