What is Rosacea Treatment Triggers and Diet
What is rosacea? Is a question that many people might ask once they discover inflammation and redness on their faces. Rosacea is a skin condition that typically affects men and women who have fair skin. Red blotchiness and visible blood vessels just under the skin, usually on the face, are the hallmarks of Rosacea. Some people with rosacea may blush or flush easily and have red, bloodshot eyes and can even have a reddish nose. The age of onset differs for everyone, but generally those between the ages of thirty and fifty are more prone to this skin condition. While men do get the skin condition, women seem to be more susceptible to it.
Though there is no cure for Rosacea there are some actions that a person with Rosacea can take to calm and to manage the skin condition. There are Rosacea skin care products available and Rosacea treatment diet changes may help with the problems. Some people may even take antibiotics, like doxycycline. It might be prescribed by a doctor to relieve the skin redness and the acne-like sores that may occur in some people.
Rosacea skin care products are designed to work with the affected skin to heal it, reduce redness and to hydrate and feed the skin to restore it, if possible to better health. Treatment probably needs to be consistent to manage the skin condition the best. Management with products can be wonderful news for a person suffering with Rosacea, but another piece in the management is discovering some of the things that make the condition flare up or worsen, or triggers. Once you have a Rosacea triggers list, then you can begin to alter some routines that are making your Rosacea worse. Things like wind, sun, hot or cold weather, emotional stress and consuming alcohol are common to see on a Rosacea triggers list, but since triggers seem to vary from one person to another, the list can be extensive and what bothers one person might have no effect on another.
What is rosacea is the first step in managing the condition and then understanding what are the possible triggers for more flare ups for you. From there searching for ways to combat the condition is the focus. In addition to creams and possible antibiotics, some may try a Rosacea treatment diet. The thought is that there may also be some foods that can trigger Rosacea flares. If they are avoided, then there may be a positive effect on the Rosacea. Foods that are spicy can be triggers. Alcohol and hot foods and dairy foods like cheese and yogurt are on the list to avoid. Items like beans and peas, soy products and citrus fruits might play a role, as well. Sadly, even chocolate may be on the do not eat list, too. Some of these foods may not have an effect for each person, so perhaps testing some of the foods in turn can tell you if they are bothersome or if they are not personal triggers.
What is Rosacea and how can it be managed are questions that are on the mind of those suffering with the skin condition and those who love and support them. Since there is no cure, discovering personal triggers can help to keep flare ups down and with some dietary changes, Rosacea does not have to become a debilitating skin condition. Skin care products and antibiotics can also be helpful in caring for Rosacea. Seeking as much information as possible is a great way to keep up with research, new products and medications and to get support.
