Fabric Laminating & Bonding occurs when two or more layers are constructed with a polymer film bonded to a fabric. Laminated fabrics are used in rainwear, automotive, and other applications. Both staple and spunlaid nonwovens would have no mechanical resistance in and of themselves, without the bonding step. Several methods can be used: thermal bonding, ultrasonic pattern bonding and chemical bonding among other processes.
