Planning

Remove appliances and furniture
This is very important step especially when installing laminate flooring because it helps you in preventing damages to appliances and furniture as well as preventing injuries.

Remove existing flooring
If you had already installed some flooring in your home, remove it to ensure that the new flooring is installed properly. For instance, if you had initially installed wood flooring, remove it before installing a new one to ensure uniformity. Removing existing flooring will also help in preventing damage of the new flooring especially if the old flooring has mold growing
on it.

Plan the layout

For instance, after installing wood flooring, you might have apply vanish or paint on the floor and give it two to three days to dry before you start stepping on it. Wood flooring also require sanding to smoothen before applying vanish or paint. Laminate flooring on the other hand requires covering expansion gaps around the room perimeter.  Finally, knowing how to install flooring or having an installation guide is very important.
