WWJD? - What Would Jesus Do?

What would Jesus do? Four simple words, but they carry so much meaning. We see Christians every day wearing bracelets, shirts, and hoodies that say “WWJD.” But most of the time, we don’t stop to think about what it really means. When we face tough situations, we should pause and ask ourselves what Jesus would do if He were in our place.

Living Like Jesus

Jesus teaches us to act with love, compassion, and selflessness. Asking “What would Jesus do?” helps guide our choices. It pushes us to think about how He would respond - with kindness, charity, courage, and justice.

In simple terms, Jesus would be:

  • Compassionate

  • Selfless

  • Charitable

  • Humble

  • Just

  • Loving

These qualities sound easy, but living them out can be hard. So why don’t we always do it? Why do we get defensive? Why do we argue when things get uncomfortable? Imagine how different our lives would be if we truly lived by this phrase. We are called to be obedient and to let Jesus guide our actions.

Jesus Showed Us How

Jesus was falsely accused. He was tortured. He was mocked and put to death. So what did He do? He prayed. He forgave. He served. He loved until the very end. Jesus never responded with hate. He chose mercy. He chose love. St. Stephen, one of Jesus’ followers, lived this out too. When he was being stoned to death, his final words were praising God and praying for those who were hurting him. That is real faith. That is real obedience.

Living WWJD Every Day

WWJD isn’t just something to wear on a bracelet. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a reminder to pause, pray, and choose love even when it’s hard.

So the next time you’re hurt, angry, or confused, stop and ask yourself - What would Jesus do? Then be brave enough to do it.
