Why the Devil Wants You to Stay Quiet About Your Faith
There’s a subtle voice that shows up when you feel the nudge to speak about God. It whispers, “Don’t say anything. You’ll sound weird. People will judge you. You’re not holy enough. Just keep it to yourself.”

That voice is not from God. It’s from the enemy - the father of lies. And his number one goal? To shut you up.
See, the devil knows something you might not fully realize yet: when a teenager on fire for God opens their mouth, hearts move. Souls awaken. Light breaks into the darkness. And that terrifies him.
You might think, “I’m not a preacher,” or “I’m not good enough to talk about Jesus.” But that’s the lie. The devil wants you to believe that only priests, saints, or perfect people are allowed to speak truth. That couldn’t be further from the Gospel.
Jesus called fishermen, tax collectors, teenagers, and sinners to be His voice. He called the unqualified and made them bold. And He’s calling you, too.
So why does Satan work so hard to keep you silent?
Because your voice carries power.
Because silence creates space for lies.
Because your courage inspires others.
But here’s the reality: it’s not always easy. Sharing your faith might cost you popularity, comfort, or approval. But it will never cost you more than what Jesus gave for you. The early Christians were arrested, beaten, and even killed for sharing Jesus. You might just face eye rolls or awkward silence.
That’s okay. Speak anyway. Pray for courage. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the words. Remember: your job isn’t to convert everyone - it’s to be faithful. Let God do the rest.
You were given a voice for a reason. Don’t bury it. The devil wants a quiet generation of Catholics. But God is raising up a bold one. Let that be you.
