Video 15: What If You Gave Jesus 30 Days?

Welcome back, everyone. We've made it to the final video in this series. We've talked about purpose, identity, anxiety, loneliness, suffering, whether God exists, the Bible, who Jesus really is, forgiveness, freedom, prayer, and even what happens when we die. But after everything we've discussed, I don't want you to believe in Jesus simply because I told you to. I want you to discover Him for yourself. Maybe you believe in God, maybe you walked away from faith, or maybe you're still not sure any of this is true. That's okay. You don't have to have everything figured out today. You just need to be willing to keep searching.

So here's my challenge: Give Jesus 30 days. For the next month, spend a few minutes each day doing three simple things. First, read one chapter of the Bible, beginning with the Gospel of Mark. Pay attention to Jesus—what He says, what He does, and what He claims about Himself. Second, spend five minutes praying. If you're not even sure God exists, simply say, “God, if You're really there, help me find You and show me the truth.” Third, try living one thing Jesus teaches each day. Forgive someone, help someone, tell the truth, resist a temptation, control your anger, apologize when you're wrong, or reach out to someone who's lonely. Don't just learn about Christianity. Try living it.

And don't try to figure everything out by yourself. If these videos have made you curious about Jesus or the Catholic faith, your next step is OCIASchool.com. OCIA stands for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, the journey through which people learn about the Catholic faith and, if they choose, prepare to become Catholic. You don't have to decide today that you want to become Catholic. Just start learning. At OCIASchool.com, you can explore Jesus, Scripture, prayer, the sacraments, the Mass, the Church, and what it actually means to follow Christ.

Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” — Matthew 7:7. So that's my final challenge: seek. Give Jesus 30 days, visit OCIASchool.com, keep asking questions, and see where the journey leads. Before you begin, say one simple prayer: “Jesus, I don't have all the answers, but if You really are the Son of God, I want to know You. Show me the truth and help me become the person You created me to be.”

You started this series with one question: What if there's more to life than this? Maybe now you're beginning to realize there is. And maybe that something more isn't actually something at all. Maybe it's Someone. Maybe it's Jesus Christ. Now take the next step.
