Trials & Tribulations

People often ask, “Why does God let bad things happen?” The truth is, God is not creating these bad things in our lives - He just doesn’t always stop them. If life were perfect and we never hit rock bottom, we would never seek God. We would never grow. We would never learn how much we truly need Him.

Sometimes God allows us to go through hard seasons so we will crawl back to Him. Crawl back to the peace our hearts are desperately searching for. Rock bottom isn’t the end - it’s often the beginning of a deeper relationship with God.

Jesus Is Our Peace

Jesus is called the King of Peace. There’s a saying that goes, “Know Jesus, know peace. No Jesus, no peace.” Without Jesus, climbing out of dark seasons can feel impossible. But through God, all things are possible. Jesus brings peace to hearts that feel overwhelmed and broken. In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” When we follow Him, He lights our path so we don’t stumble. In darkness, we fall. But in His light, we see the way forward. Then in John 14:6, Jesus tells us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” We come to God through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the bridge between us and the Father. When life feels confusing, Jesus shows us the way.

Growing Through the Hard Times

Many prophets in the Bible talk about rejoicing in their sufferings. Not because pain is fun, but because they know God is using it to shape them. Paul writes in Colossians 1:24, “I am now rejoicing in my sufferings for your sake.” Even while imprisoned, Paul found joy because he knew God was working through his hardship. Then again in Romans 8:18, he writes, “I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.” Paul understood that what we go through now cannot compare to what God has planned for us. Rock bottom is often where our faith grows the strongest.

Refined Like Gold

How is gold purified? It’s heated and melted again and again until it becomes pure. God does the same with us. He allows us to go through the fire so we can come out stronger. Sometimes life feels like hell on earth. But God uses those moments to pull us closer to Him. He wants to fill the emptiness inside us with His peace, love, and comfort. Trials are not meant to break us - they are meant to build us.

Trust the Process

If you’re in a hard season right now, don’t give up. God sees you. He is walking with you. What feels like pain today could be your testimony tomorrow. Keep trusting Him. Keep praying. Keep believing.

God is refining you, just like gold. And when you come out of this season, you will shine brighter than ever.
