The Bright Side

“The bright side.” A short phrase, yet so deep. God calls us to focus on the positives in life instead of the negatives. He wants us to stay hopeful even when the enemy tries to pull us down. Life is not always easy, and following God does not mean we will never face struggles. In fact, the Bible reminds us that hardships are part of the journey.

“They strengthened the spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the faith, saying, ‘It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.’” Acts 14:22

There will be moments when our hearts are overflowing with joy that only Jesus can give. But the enemy will always try to steal that joy. When we mess up or fall into sin, we sometimes feel like God must be disappointed in us. But the truth is, God is always waiting with open arms, ready to pull us out of whatever ditch we fall into. His love is endless, and His mercy never runs out.

“For all this, His anger has not turned away; His hand is stretched out still.”
Isaiah 9:12

Even when we mess up again and again, God never gives up on us. He is compassionate and always willing to forgive. The Lord is our Father. He wants to guide us, protect us, and lead us toward a better life. He calls us to walk in the light that He has shown us through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the light of the world. He shines on our path so we don’t have to walk in darkness or feel lost.

The joy that comes from following Jesus is real. It still exists today. God fills the hearts of His faithful so they can feel renewed and strengthened. He wants us to trust Him fully so that He can change the way we see things and help us focus on the bright side.

“I praise the word of God,
I praise the word of the Lord.
In God I trust, I do not fear.
What can man do to me?”
Psalm 56:11–12

When God is by our side, the world cannot defeat us. He is faithful, patient, compassionate, forgiving, and so much more. Even if we walk away from Him, He never walks away from us. He is always ready to welcome us back with open arms.

God loves us more than we could ever imagine. And when we choose to look at the bright side, we realize something amazing – He has been walking with us the whole time.
