Today we’re talking about something REALLY important:

🏠 The Church Is More Than a Building

When many people hear the word:

“church”

they think about:

• pews

• stained glass windows

• candles 🕯️

• and long sermons 😄

But the Church is MUCH more than a building.

❤️ The Church is a FAMILY.

It’s made up of people all around the world who:

• believe in Jesus ✝️

• and want to grow closer to God together 🙏
  
  

⚽ The Church Is Like a Team

Think about a sports team.

Every player matters.

Some:

• score goals ⚽

• defend 🛡️

• encourage teammates 🤝

• or help behind the scenes ✨

The Church works the SAME way.

🌟 Every person has an important role - including YOU.

🎁 God Gave You Special Gifts

God did NOT create you by accident.

He gave you:

• talents 🎨

• kindness ❤️

• abilities 💪

• and gifts ✨

that can help other people.

Maybe:

• you make people laugh 😄

• help kids feel included 🤝

• love helping others ❤️

• or stand up for what’s right 🦁

🌟 Those are gifts from God.

❤️ The Church Is NOT Full of Perfect People

Here’s something REALLY important:

The Church is NOT full of perfect people.

Everyone:

• makes mistakes

• struggles sometimes

• and has hard days

Even saints made mistakes before becoming saints!

The Church is more like:

🏥 A hospital for hearts

than a museum for perfect people.

That means:

❤️ You do NOT have to pretend to be perfect to belong there.

✝️ Four Special Words About the Church

Catholics describe the Church with four special words:

1️⃣ One

Catholics all over the world believe together.

2️⃣ Holy

God is holy and helps us grow closer to Him.

3️⃣ Catholic

“Catholic” means:

🌎 Universal - for everyone.

4️⃣ Apostolic

The Church began with Jesus and His apostles.

🌍 One Big Worldwide Family

Here’s something AMAZING:

No matter where you go:

• America 🇺🇸

• Italy 🇮🇹

• Mexico 🇲🇽

• Africa 🌍

• or anywhere else

Catholics gather together for:

• Mass ⛪

• prayer 🙏

• and worship ✨

That makes the Church:

❤️ One giant worldwide family.

⛪ Your Parish Matters

Your parish church is NOT just somewhere you visit once a week.

It’s a place where people:

• pray together 🙏

• help each other 🤝

• celebrate together 🎉

• and grow together 🌱

Sometimes that means BIG things.

Sometimes it means:

• smiling at someone 😊

• helping at an event ❤️

• or talking to someone who feels lonely 🤝

Even little acts of kindness help build the Church.

😄 Church Families Can Be Funny Too

And yes…

Church life can be funny 😄

There are:

• donuts after Mass 🍩

• people singing off-key 🎶😂

• babies crying 👶

• and that ONE person who always sits in the exact same seat every Sunday!

That’s all part of being:

❤️ You are part of God’s family.

Say hello to someone new at church.

3️⃣ Ask Yourself

“How can I help others and make the world better?”

The Church is NOT just somewhere you go.

✨ It’s somewhere you BELONG.

And God is inviting you to be part of something:

• beautiful 🌟

• loving ❤️

• and much bigger than yourself ✝️
