OCIA Kids Version Session 28: Ongoing Formation – Study, Prayer, and Catholic Learning Resources
🌱 Keep Growing in Faith 🌱
Welcome back! Today we're talking about something very important: continuing to grow in your faith. Becoming Catholic is not the end of your journey with God. It is the beginning of a lifelong adventure of learning, growing, praying, and becoming closer to Him.

Think about learning a sport, playing an instrument, or getting better at a game. No one becomes an expert overnight. It takes practice, patience, and time. Faith works the same way. The more we pray, attend Mass, learn about God, read the Bible, and spend time with Jesus, the stronger our faith becomes.
Faith is also like a friendship. If two friends never talk or spend time together, their friendship can grow weaker. Our friendship with God grows stronger when we spend time with Him through prayer and learning about our faith. That is why it is important to keep growing and learning throughout our lives.
There are many ways Catholics can grow closer to God. We can read the Bible, learn about the saints, pray the Rosary, attend Mass, join church activities, watch faith-filled videos, and read good Catholic books. Every small step helps us grow closer to Jesus.
The good news is that you do not have to know everything about the Catholic faith right away. Even priests, religious sisters, and saints spent their lives learning more about God. What matters is having a willing heart and continuing to grow little by little.
Prayer is especially important because it helps build a real friendship with God. The more we talk to Him, listen to Him, and trust Him, the stronger that friendship becomes. Prayer can bring peace, comfort, guidance, and strength into our lives.
Faith also grows better when we share it with others. That is why being part of a church community is so important. When we pray together, learn together, and encourage one another, our faith becomes stronger. Just like a campfire burns brighter when many pieces of wood are together, our faith often grows stronger when we are surrounded by other believers.
Life can get busy with school, sports, hobbies, friends, and many distractions. That is why it is important to make time for God. Even a few minutes of prayer, reading Scripture, or thinking about God each day can make a big difference.
This week, spend a little time learning something new about your faith. Pray every day, even if your prayer is short, and think about one way you would like to grow closer to God this year.
Always remember that your journey with God is never finished. There is always more to learn, more ways to grow, and more of God's love to discover. Every step you take toward Him helps your faith become stronger and your friendship with Jesus grow deeper..
