OCIA Kids Version Session 13: Mary & the Saints – Communion of Saints and Marian Devotion

🌹 Mary and the Saints 🌹

✨ Heroes of Faith Who Point Us to Jesus

Welcome Back!

Today we’re talking about:

❤️ Mary and the Saints

Sometimes people ask:

“Do Catholics worship Mary and the saints?”

The answer is:

❌ No.

Catholics worship God alone.

Mary and the saints are honored because they:

  • loved God deeply ❤️

  • followed Him faithfully ✝️

  • inspire us 🌟

  • and pray for us 🙏

🦸 Saints Are Spiritual Role Models

Think about athletes or superheroes.

People admire them because they:

  • worked hard

  • helped others

  • and became examples

Saints are like:

🌟 Spiritual role models.

They show us how to:

  • trust God

  • help others

  • stay faithful

  • live with love

😊 Saints Were Not Perfect

Here’s something important:

Saints were NOT perfect people.

Some:

  • struggled with fear

  • made mistakes

  • had difficult lives

But they kept turning back to God.

And God helped them grow.

🌹 Mary Is Very Special

Mary is special because:

❤️ She is the mother of Jesus.

When God asked Mary to become the mother of Jesus, she trusted Him and said:

“Yes.”

That yes changed the world forever.

Catholics love and honor Mary because:

🌟 She always points us toward Jesus.

🧭 Mary Leads Us to Jesus

Imagine you’re trying to find your way somewhere important.

Someone kindly points you in the right direction.

That’s what Mary does spiritually.

❤️ She helps lead us closer to Jesus.

🙏 Saints Pray for Us

Catholics ask saints to pray for them.

That’s like asking friends or family to pray for you when you’re having a hard time.

The saints are alive in heaven with God.

They are part of God’s family too.

🌟 Examples of Saints

Here are a few examples:

St. Joseph

Known as a protector and helper for families 👨‍👩‍👧

St. Anthony

Known for helping people find lost things 🔎

Many saints are remembered for:

  • courage 💪

  • kindness ❤️

  • helping the poor 🤝

  • caring for the sick 🩹

📿 The Rosary

One very popular Catholic prayer is:

📿 The Rosary

The Rosary helps people think about the life of Jesus while praying with Mary.

It can bring:

  • peace 🕊️

  • focus 🎯

  • and closeness to God ❤️

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 One Big Family of God

The Church teaches that we are all part of one huge family of God.

That includes:

  • people on earth 🌍

  • people in heaven ✨

  • and everyone growing closer to God ❤️

So when Catholics talk about saints, we remember:

🙌 We are never alone in our faith journey.

⭐ Your Challenge This Week

Try these 3 things:

1️⃣ Learn About a Saint

Pick one saint and learn their story.

2️⃣ Pray Slowly

Pray one Hail Mary slowly and think about the words.

3️⃣ Ask Yourself

“What kind of person do I want to become?”

❤️ Always Remember This

Holiness is NOT only for famous people or superheroes.

God calls ordinary people to become saints too.

And with God’s help:

🌟 kindness, courage, love, and faith can change the world.
