Muslim Friends, Why You Should Believe in Jesus as the Son of God

To my Muslim brothers and sisters... You already believe in One God. You believe in prayer, fasting, modesty, and judgment day. You respect Jesus (Isa) as a prophet and the Messiah. You even believe He was born of a virgin, that He performed miracles, and that He will return before the end of time. And that means you’re already closer to Jesus than you might think. But what if I told you… there’s more? What if I told you that Jesus wasn’t just a prophet, but God’s eternal Word, sent to save the world, including you? Not to create division. Not to cancel the prophets. But to fulfill them all - and offer you eternal life. Let’s walk through the reasons you should believe in Jesus Christ not just as a prophet, but as the Son of God and Savior of all.

Jesus Was Born of a Virgin - That Alone Makes Him Unique

The Qur’an confirms (Surah 3:45–47) that Jesus was born to Mary (Maryam) without a human father. Christians agree! But this should raise a major question: If Jesus had no human father… then who is His Father? The Bible says: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy - the Son of God.” - Luke 1:35  This is not an insult to God. It doesn’t mean God had a physical son. It means Jesus came from God’s very being, sent into the world out of love (John 3:16).

Jesus Did What No Prophet Ever Did

Yes, prophets did miracles. But Jesus raised the dead, forgave sins, cast out demons, and commanded nature - by His own authority. “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” - Mark 4:41 He didn’t say, “God says you are forgiven.” He said: “I forgive you your sins.” - Luke 7:48 Only God can forgive sins. So who is Jesus claiming to be? Even His enemies said: “You, a mere man, claim to be God.” - John 10:33

Jesus Fulfilled Prophecies Written Centuries Before Him

Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, Jewish Scriptures (which predate the Qur’an and are respected in Islam) foretold a Savior:

  • Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14)

  • Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)

  • Would suffer and die for our sins (Isaiah 53)

  • Would be called God-with-us (Isaiah 9:6)

Jesus fulfilled them all. No one else in history - Muhammad included - can claim this.

Jesus Didn’t Just Teach the Truth - He Is the Truth

Jesus didn’t come to start a religion. He came to restore a broken relationship between God and man - by offering Himself. He said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” - John 14:6 That’s not just a prophet speaking. That’s a Savior offering a way home.

The Resurrection Proves Everything

Muslims believe Jesus was taken up to heaven. Christians agree - but only after He was crucified and rose again. Why does this matter? Because: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is in vain.” - 1 Corinthians 15:14 Jesus predicted His own death and resurrection (Mark 8:31) - and it happened.

Hundreds of eyewitnesses saw Him alive afterward (1 Corinthians 15:3–6), and every apostle gave their life rather than deny it. No one dies for a lie they made up. The resurrection is the ultimate proof that Jesus is not just a man - but the Lord of life and death.

Jesus Offers What No One Else Can: Assurance of Salvation

Islam teaches that good deeds might outweigh bad, and that paradise is never guaranteed. Jesus offers something different: “Everyone who believes in Me shall not perish, but have eternal life.” - John 3:16 “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28 Jesus doesn’t say “Try harder.” He says “Trust Me.” Not because you are worthy - but because He is.

Final Word: You’re Closer Than You Think

If you believe Jesus was born of a virgin, did miracles, and is alive in heaven today - you’re already so close. Now take the final step:

  • Read the Gospel of John.

  • Ask God in prayer: “If Jesus is truly Your Son, reveal Him to me.”

  • Be open. Be honest. And be ready for your life to change.

Because Jesus is not far from you. He’s already been calling your name. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in…”
- Revelation 3:20

Will you open the door? He’s waiting - with mercy, with truth, and with love beyond anything this world can offer.
