How Will Jesus Fulfill the Remaining Messianic Prophecies?
Over 400 Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah have already been fulfilled in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These include His virgin birth, sinless life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection. But what about the rest? Are there any Messianic prophecies He hasn't fulfilled yet? Yes - and that’s where Christian hope burns brightest. Many prophecies, especially those regarding universal peace, judgment, and the restoration of creation, are still awaiting fulfillment. Christians believe Jesus will complete these during His Second Coming. Here's how He will fulfill them:
1. Jesus Will Return in Power and Glory
Prophecies: Daniel 7:13-14; Zechariah 14:4; Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:11 Jesus will return, not quietly like at Bethlehem, but in power and great glory, visible to all the nations. Just as He ascended from the Mount of Olives, He will return there. “They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” - Matthew 24:30
2. Jesus Will Rule the Nations as King
Prophecies: Isaiah 9:6-7; Psalm 2:8–9; Zechariah 14:9; Revelation 19:15-16 He will reign from Jerusalem over a renewed earth. His government will be perfectly just, and His reign eternal. “The government will be upon His shoulder... of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.” - Isaiah 9:6–7
3. Jesus Will Bring Worldwide Peace and Justice
Prophecies: Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3-4; Isaiah 11:6-9 Weapons of war will be turned into tools of peace. The curse of violence will be lifted. Even nature will be restored. “They shall beat their swords into plowshares... neither shall they learn war anymore.” - Isaiah 2:4
4. Jesus Will Fully Restore Israel
Prophecies: Jeremiah 23:5-8; Ezekiel 37:21-28; Romans 11:25-27 All the promises made to Israel—including spiritual revival and national restoration-will be fulfilled. The Jewish people will recognize Jesus as their Messiah. “All Israel will be saved.” - Romans 11:26
5. Jesus Will Judge the Nations and the Living
Prophecies: Joel 3:2; Isaiah 11:4; Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus will gather the nations and judge them according to righteousness. This includes the famous judgment of the sheep and the goats. “He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.” - Matthew 25:32
6. Jesus Will Defeat the Antichrist and All Evil
Prophecies: Daniel 7:11; Isaiah 11:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Revelation 19:20 At His return, Jesus will confront and destroy the Antichrist, the false prophet, and all demonic powers. Satan’s final rebellion will be crushed. “The Lord will consume [the lawless one] with the breath of His mouth.” - 2 Thessalonians 2:8
7. Jesus Will Resurrect the Dead and Judge All Humanity
Prophecies:
Daniel 12:2; Isaiah 26:19; John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15
There will be a final resurrection. The righteous will enter eternal life, and the wicked will be judged.
“All who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out.” - John 5:28–29
8. Jesus Will Create a New Heaven and New Earth
Prophecies: Isaiah 65:17; Isaiah 66:22; Revelation 21:1–5 The broken world we know will pass away. Christ will usher in a new creation, free of pain, sin, and death-where God dwells with His people forever. “Behold, I make all things new.” - Revelation 21:5

Final Thought
The first coming of Jesus was quiet and humble. The second will be majestic, just, and final. His victory is already won, but His return will complete the story.
Christians don't just look back at prophecy fulfilled - we look forward in hope, waiting for the day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
“Come, Lord Jesus.” - Revelation 22:20
