Saving Money on Bathroom Remodeling Is Easy

You want to remodel your bathroom but are worried about the cost? Why not try doing it yourself? While it is not for everyone, there is a good chance you might be able to do it. Just roll your sleeves up and start working on your bathroom. If you want to avoid spending extra money, do not alter the plumbing. Keep the sink, toilet and tub in their original places. This way you will be saving on the plumbing costs.

Buy Wholesale

Since you are changing the look of the bathroom, you would need to buy supplies. If you buy wholesale bathroom supplies by yourself, you can really save oodles of dough. If by any chance, you are remodeling more than one bathroom or you have another room that you need to remodel, you can save around 75% if you shop wholesale.

For bathroom accessories, why not try eBay? This site has lots of wholesale and single listing auctions. Check out sites like Ebay or Amazon. You will not find light switches, towel racks, and faucets etc. for $1 or less anywhere else. If you have not tried eBay before, it is time that you take the plunge.

Focus On Quality

While buying bathroom fixtures, do ensure that you are buying good quality stuff. Do not be tempted to buy inexpensive bathroom fixtures as cheap often means low quality. They will break up in no time at all and you will just have to buy new ones- so that means spending twice, unnecessarily.

However, this does not mean that you just have to shell out huge amounts of money for expensive bathroom fixtures. Look for mid-priced bathroom fixtures that are of high quality. You might have to do a little bit of looking around but I am sure that you can find them.

Flooring

Flooring is a very important aspect when it comes to the overall look of the bathroom. However, at the same time, we also have to keep the saving goal in our minds while shopping for flooring. So what I would advice is that instead of buying expensive ceramic tiles, you should purchase good quality linoleum. Besides being less expensive than ceramic tiles, linoleum is much easier to clean.

Tub

As far as the tub is concerned, you can go for all-in-one unit in which the tub comes along with the walls. The walls of the tub will stop just below the shower head fixture. This way you will be able to save on the paint and wall board materials too.

However, in case you are thinking about installing new tiles, the best thing to do is to remove the tub and shower surround. Then, first replace the drywall with cement backer board. Next, install the tub and build a new tile shower surround.

See, it is not so hard to save money on bathroom remodeling. Be creative and make sure that you stick to your budget.
