To play Poppy Playtime, you play a former employee of Playtime Co. who goes back into the abandoned Playtime Co. Toy Factory after getting a letter from staff who were thought to have gone 10 years ago. It turns out that Huggy Wuggy, the company's mascot, is alive and a threat to the protagonist and other people in the factory. They also find out that other enemies are around. The game has a lot of different puzzles that the player must solve in order to move on. Some require a backpack called the GrabPack, which has two extendable hands that can be used to pull and reach objects from a long way away, conduct electricity, and open certain doors. The player can also find a lot of VHS tapes around the factory. These tapes give a more in-depth explanation of the story.
