She is an accomplished Author of "101 Tips for Military Spouses" and "Meet Robby the C-130", a popular military children's book about family separation.
Mrs. Mahoney founded and currently Coordinates Kids of Americas Heroes, a non-profit military children's organization which positively encourages military children between 4-12 years old (PreK-5th grades) whose parent(s) are deployed, on a remote tour, or temporary duty assignment. The mission of Kids of Americas Heroes is to provide a fun, interactive, and socially connected group for military children in a safe, positive, and encouraging environment. KOAH works closely with military, government, and educational institutes to provide activities, arts and craft, and entertainment for the children while delivering guidance and discussions for the dependent spouses or caregivers. The KOAH Program has been highly supported and recognized by Little Rock AFB 19 AW/CC, Brig. General Rowan A. Schatz, and Col. Geoffrey Otey. Current participating support groups include, but are not limited to: Arnold Drive Elementary School and Principal Jackie Smith, LRAFB Airmen & Family Readiness Center, LRAFB Family Advocacy, Military Family Life Consultants, and LRAFB Spouses Club.
Mrs. Mahoney established and organized the first Month of the Military Child Fair at Little Rock AFB and writes monthly columns for the Arkansas Examiner's Military Families section.
In 1994-98 she attended Hawaii Pacific University for Computer Science and Business Entrepreneurship while attending and speaking at prestigious nationwide conferences and seminars such as Internet World, Comdex, and the Hawaii Technology Expo. In 1998 she was appointed Chairperson for the International Webmasters Association of Hawaii, and recently received overall Volunteer of the Quarter for Little Rock AFB, AR.
